We caught a moment with the founder of Amber London, Sana Hansassi-Savari and asked her a few questions our lovely #AmberTribe has been waiting to know answers to!

Meet our Founder – Sana

Tell us the story behind Amber London?

I struggled to find stylish swimwear that also offered support. Being petite with a bigger bust means I truly understand first-hand the importance of fit and what features are needed to achieve that.

After years of struggling to find the right fit, I wanted to create a line of beach wear that truly reflected the diversity of the female form, providing a solution that empowers its wearer."

Amber London’s mission is to empower women and encourage confidence. Each piece is designed in London by the founder, Sana and crafted in Italy from the highest quality Italian material using carefully selected partners.

How are the styles that you make so supportive?

“At Amber London, our tops are fitted by cup-sizes rather than the conventional XS-XL scale, which assumes that small back sizes have a small bust and vice versa and that is why we can offer supportive styles that offer the best fit. Our styles offer features such as underwire, adjustable shoulder and back straps and thicker straps to avoid shoulder digging.”

Where are your products made?

“All of our swimwear has been designed by founder, me in London. From the creation of fabric to the final piece, we have selected our partners carefully, ensuring their expertise, values and quality of work. We produce in Italy, where we work closely with our seamstresses.

I want to offer the best of Italian quality tailor made to fit a woman’s needs."

Our swimwear is :

• Carefully selected high quality Italian fabric and tested for durability
• Incredibly soft and comfortable fabric
• Fast drying swimwear
• Resistant to chlorine, sun lotion and oils
• Excellent coverage swimwear
• UV protected swimwear

How do your sizes work?

“Fit is very important to us and therefore our tops are cup-sized, instead of following the standard XS-XL scale, which assumes small back sizes have a small bust and vice versa. We refer to sister group sizing, where sizes are grouped based on the cup volume that they cover, which is ideal for swimwear due to the stretch of the material and adjustable functions. For example, if you are normally a UK 32DD then you should opt for size 4, this will also fit UK sizes 30E, 34D and 36C as they have the same cup volume. To work out your sister size, you can go up a cup size and down a back size and vice versa.

Fit really is at the centre of our design process.

Please refer to our size guide to find your perfect fit.

Which is your favourite piece from the collection?

“Well, I can’t pin point! But, I have named each of the designs after my favourite summer destinations in Italy. So, that makes each of the designs a favourite as per where we’re heading!”

Amalfi top, Positano top, Capri Top, Sorrento Bottom, Vietri Bottom

How would you style an Amber London piece?

“I would not just wear it to the beach but I honestly have made it my everyday wardrobe favourite also.
